  27. I STRONGLY doubt it. I am aware of no plans for IBM to support win32,
  28. NT style, in any os/2 product, and if they do, I doubt their ability
  29. to get it done in the next two years.

  35. NT is the greatest thing since sliced toast. I use it for software
  36. development, Multimedia development, Internet connectivity, database
  37. management, it irons my shirts, waxes my car, and formats floppies in
  38. the background, _ALL_ while rendering using POVray. I have 16 mb of
  39. ram in a 486-66 w/ a 1gig HD, and although it gets sluggish with that
  40. kind of load on it, it doesn't break. Another 32mb ram would make it
  41. quick in the 2-4 simultaneous task range, and a dual-P5-90 motherboard
  42. could absolutely snap.

  44. A 4-processor 21066 300Mhz Alpha w/ 96mb ram and a RAID array
  45. approaches relativistic speeds (slightly faster than an SGI Challenge,
  46. for 100k$ less, too). Commands sometimes complete before you enter
  47. them, forcing you to figure out what you're about to request on the
  48. basis of their output. DEC has the ability to cluster up to 4 NT
  49. boxes, and treat them as one logical machine (20 300mhz Alphas x 4...
  50. do the math).
